A gentlemen on the 16 ga forum is looking for a replacement stock for his B grade 16ga. I have the original stock that came off my 16ga SW. Will they interchange? His has a crack down the back ( splitting into) and he would like to get it back into the Field.

This was the post from Pa. Hunter

I hunted as a youngster with a 16ga. s/s Savage/Fox Model B that belonged to my grandfather. Long story short all of his guns were to go to me. Well while I was across the pond hunting VC Pap passed on and the guns disappeared.
I recently found the very same gun but the rear stock is cracked but other than that it is in great condition.
I need help finding an orginal stock so I can recondition the shotgun to use as my grouse gun. If anyone can help in any way PLEASE E-mail me at Bump1@windstream.net.

Appreciate it and good hunting to y'all. Be safe.

Pa. Hunter

Maybe I'm not reading this post correctly but it seems the 16 gauge chap wants a stock for a Fox Model B, that's an all together different gun than an Ansley B-grade 16 or a 16 SW for that matter. Stocks for a Fox Model B are not interchangeable with any genuine Ansley-designed guns. Silvers

Cracked, even completely broken, stocks can often be repaired and it's usually a better alternative than a replacement on a field grade gun.

Silvers & Mike thanks, I wasn't sure as I have never played with a B grade. I will pass this on to him.

I'm still not certain whether we are talking about a B-Grade --

Or, the Savege built Fox Model B which was really a dressed up Springfield Model 311.

I'm pretty sure it's a "Fox" Model B. Frank

From the photos posted on 16ga, it's a savage 311.
