While reviewing some of the old post, I noticed discussion about serial #'s. I think you have the 1st one as #27800 and that is correct. The first batch went thru #27896 but #27808,#27842,#27897,#27898 and #27899 are missing. #27810 card is there but it is an "A" grade. From #27900 on up includes all grades. So there were close to 100 in the first batch, now you know as much as I do!
R. W. Harris (Billy)
Sr No 27809 for Walter G Clark. Feb 14.1923.(Famous Inventor) Friend of Joe C Knapp (founder of Ducks Unlimited) Story was in SSM March-April 2005. written by Capt.James Fender with "A little help from the Gun-Owner Foxed Chisels".I think that HE is the 2nd Oldest in circulation?? "WE" did try to check on the 8 Guns between 27800 & My "Old Klunker" 27809. "RC" checked for me....but that was back in 2002/03. I'm sure more'True-Gen" has come to light by now !
"FA", Thanks for the reply..27803 is a "New" No. for me. Do you have a Name or any 'Gen' that would be of interest, or is it in the "Non Diclosure File? ...27803 is of course "Dr H Liebold's HE that your & MMcI's Research is in the"Foxsists" Handbook circa 1992. So as you tell me my Old Clunker No, 27809 is still No 3 in the Survival of the Fittest of the Foxes"!It is I belive an Original 3" chamber. I make Cerrosafe Chamber Castings of all these Guns of Mystries'.Always of interest what the inside of the chambers can tell me!!!Do you know if"Becker cut the Chambers on these early "HEs"..f/c.
The owner of 27803 is a regular on this forum and I am sure he will get in touch with you to exchange information after seeing this post. I have only shot my SF on ducks twice, but they are very deadly!
No Doubt an" Eagle-Eyed" FoxCollector will note my "Error' with the Sr #s that I used in my "Post"! Dr Liebold's is of course No.1 HE.27800. 2ndOldest No.27803.. Walter G Clark No. 27809. Would be very Interesting to find some more Early Super HEs....dt
