Yes I know this is heresy. LC Smith Long Range guns, all three of them are 32", F&F and factory 3-inch. Top one is a nicely restocked Specialty Grade I got recently and the others are Field Grades. Generally the LR guns are a bit lighter and more dynamic than a typical Super-Fox, also are somewhat less expensive nowadays. But just about as effective as a Super with modern soft non-tox ammo. That is, if the gent fires more than a shot or two at some ridiculous range and proclaims the Long Range isn't up to its period advertising hype. Careful experimenters will fire both at increasing yardages and compare with each other. Just sayin.

Not heresy at all, IMO. I appreciate duck guns of all "persuasions". Those are very nice examples.
Thanks for the pics.

Frank, you're comment about LCS guns generally being a bit lighter, and more dynamic, than Super Foxes rings true with me. I have two LCS guns, both 32", one 16 and one 12. They're just so easy for me to shoot well. I've often wondered about that handling quality that they have. They have a very nice balance between weight and length, IMO. This is certainly not a put down of Super Fox guns. I've done the best duck shooting of my life with mine. But, they sure don't handle the same as the LCSs.

Frank, you certainly have some very nice guns. Josh Loew currently has one (not mine) for sale. John

Nice guns Frank. Anyone of them would be a pleasure to use on a big Spring Gobbler as well!

My LC Smith Long Range is one of my favorite duck guns. Light weight and hard hitting. Handles like a quail gun
