Added another Lefever to my collection the other day.It’s an early one from the late 1880’s.10 gauge...30” barrels...E-grade with some sweet looking dogs on it.This is one of Uncle Dans thumb push opening models.I think this one may have been special ordered as it has a nice sculpted horn fore-end tip,widows peak horn butt plate,and tear drops behind the side plates.Still tight after almost 140 years, barrels ring perfectly,and a nice amount of case color too.That man sure knew how to build guns.

I love that thumb push lever, I want to own one of those sometime.

Nice Gun, I have very little experience with Lefever's, but have always heard good things.

No problem Jeff.Lefever made around 11,000 E-grades,this one is probably one of the first 300.I have seen other guns with later serial numbers that aren’t as nicely engraved,lacking dogs that are also E-grades.I swear if you look at the setter long enough you will see his tail quivering.The sculpted fore-end tip is a nice touch also.Understated elegance,all 9lbs.6oz. of it.

Early E grades with dogs are very scarce. In fact, in 64 years of studying Lefevers, I don't remember an early E with dogs.
