Bachelder / DU Event

Post by Jeff S »

This is not an official "Fox" event, but on May 13 and 15 there will a tournament for vintage SxS shotguns at the Kent County Conservation League in Grand Rapids, MI. This would be a great opportunity for my fellow Grand Rapidians (Foxnut, Bruno...) to show off their collections. :) See attachment http://ggrdu.com/events.html

Besides showing off collections it would be nice to see Foxes out shooting in friendly competition. The flyer describes what sounds like skeet and shorter range trap targets, probably ideal for small bores. Love to hear how some of those custom stocked Foxes will do against oridinary, run of the mill production guns.

Jeff S and I shot this afternoon at the Bachelder Double Nasty Memorial Shoot. I must say Jeff was on fire with/his very nice C 12 ga.!! This was a three shoot event. 1. Trap, 2. Skeet and 3. Double skeet. Below are a couple of pics including Jeff w/a wet, shot up Fox hat to celebrate his first 25 for skeet! (Hope I said that correctly). The three event set up was challenging given you had to shoot the same gun for all three events. Jeff shot his 12 C 28” .05-/.15 choked and I was shooting a 30” CE F/XF. Beautiful weather, 66 light breeze and full sun. Jeff is priming up for Hausman’s!!!

Way to go Steggy. You are now a man to be reckoned with!

Thanks for posting the pictures. Yes, Brett and I had a good time shooting at the Bachelder / DU event. I can't believe after all of these years I finally broke 25, too bad it was just after my worst trap score ever :(. Brett brought along a couple of really nice guns. First, he shot a straight grip, early C with 30" barrels choked full/full (nice engraving). Next he shot a straight grip, early C with 26" barrels. Dandy grouse gun. We'll be seeing you guys at Hausmann's.

Nice pics guys even the two of Steggy that were off kilter. First “straight” on skeet is certainly a high point! Looking forward to seeing both of you at the Northeast! frank

Show us the rest of that stock, STEGGY!! With wood like that, the targets crumble out of sheer adoration!!
On the whole....I'd rather be in Philadelphia....
