Wow! That’s a beauty. First, I’m very partial to half pistol grips, especially on “C’s” and up. Secondly, nice wood! I can’t tell for sure, is that a 2nd gen? Please tell us more about it.

This gun came from Steve Barnet about 2 years ago. I have been looking at C grade 16-s for some time prior to buying this gun. I think they have the best engraving for my taste and cost $$$. I love the setter dog and bird scenes. We see so few small gauge c-s come up for sale and they don't give them away. I shoot best with stock dimensions that are very modern. That said I would not find a original gun with 1 1/4 x 2 1/4 stock drops that would fit me properly for hunting wild birds. Steve had this one for sale for some time....1921 CE-16 28" choked .011 and .027 = light mod and full. Gun has nice original metal finishes, but the stock had been modified for the previous owner, was not useable as it was so a restock was a bargaining chip for me. I contacted Steve and made a offer that included some good trade items that I have owned a long time and allowed me to keep my actual cost down. The lower than normal starting cost allowed for me to have the gun properly restocked front and back by one of the best stockers who prides himself crafting stocks that are correct to the originals of the period with perfect fit and finish! Together we chose a good grade of English walnut from his inventory of blanks. His cost was very fair and turn around time was less than 8 months. I'm very happy with his work!!!! I bought a case and had it redone and fitted to the CE. The gun turns 100 in 2021, now is complete in its maker case ready to hunt and enjoy for a 2nd 100 years! SXS Ohio.....(-:

I have quit adding any more guns to my safe, actually sold a couple. The wood looks like it belongs on the gun. I would certainly make an exception for a beautiful gun like yours. Very nice! John

Couple more pics, shows new for-end wood. The stocker told me that for-ends are very time consuming, lots of fitting in all directions at one time.
