C191, your pictures are as good as any posted on this forum. Tell us exactly how you did it. Your gun is just wonderful.

Now that you have the picture thing down, could we see pics of the barrel flats and watertable? I'll get some better pics of the checkering on mine.

Had to do these inside with a flash. Not taking the gun outside in the rain for natural light!!

You mentioned the Parkeresque metal forearm tip inlays. It appears they were a feature of the higher grade Philadelphia Arms Co. guns. the A-Grades I have pictures of don't have them. No. 262 --

No. 324 --

Image

The C-, D- and E-Grades have them. No. 348 D-Grade --

Image

No. 836 E-Grade and No. 454 C-Grade --

I've got pictures of one B-Grade gun, but not of the forearm.

I received questions, about my Philadelphia Arms SXS, on it
being a two barrel set. It has 26in. and 28in barrels.
I had the barrels mic'ed and the 26" has a .727 bore in both barrels with the right barrel .025 left .035 The 28" has a .729 bore in both barrels with both barrels .042 choke.
The serial numbers match and looking closely at them with a glass seem to be identical.
Thanks
Lonnie

Hi
Are there sales records of the Pre-Fox Philadelphia Arms Guns?
Not in #s but in where and when they were shipped

No. If they still survive anywhere, they haven't come to light. Likewise there are only a handful of cards surviving for the first 9600 A.H. Fox Gun Co. Ansley H. Fox doubles.
