The comments about the recoil pad make me curious. I've got a 12 ga. Utica SW #1330853 with ejectors, two ivory beads( the middle one is a little off-center) and a NOSHOC pad that appears original. Does this make it a "deluxe" or just a std. SW with normal options?

I know it doesn't matter but I could have a lot of fun telling my buddies it is a "deluxe". The comments that would follow would require a thick skin, so I'd like to be certain about the pad.

You have an extra digit in that serial number.

While the original 1930 insert announcing the Fox-Sterlingworth Deluxe states Jostam Anti-Flinch Recoil pad. All the catalogues from 1931 to 1941 say "soft rubber recoil pad" but use the same picture showing the Jostam Anti-Flinch pad. Some how up through 1934 the pad has six slots but from 1935 on the picture has lost the bottom slot? The guns I've seen that "letter" as Fox-Sterlingworth Deluxe all have had a Jostam Anti-Flinch pad.

Dave,
I will get my lettered 32" 12ga deluxe out when I get a chance and see which pad it has.

Sorry about the mistake in the serial number. I' not the world's best typist. I doubled the three.

The Noshoc pad is not vented and measures 7/8" thick at its most narrow point. I thought it to be original, but maybe not? LOP from front trigger is 14-3/16". Stock wood is 1/4" shorter than my Philadelphia SW 20 ga. Fore end is Utica type, not the splinter like the Philly. I could sure have some fun with my shooting friends,....all younger and no SxS's,.... if I could call it "deluxe". There is nothing deluxe about my shooting!

Thanks for the info.
