In that Edwin Hedderly, the editor of Western Field magazine, ordered a 16-gauge, 32-inch barrel, Parker Bros. A1 Special in May 1912, similar to the 20-gauge he ordered in April, there may well be something in his writings about it. As we can see from his order he specified 2 7/16 inch chambers, and "Draw bore barrels to shoot extra close" --
In Peter Johnson's book he pictured part of a page from a Hedderly article in Western Field showing one of the guns --
Hedderly's gun appeared on the cover of the June 1966 Guns & Ammo in well worn condition --
and in Larry Baer's 1974 book after a Pachmayr refurbishment --
Apparently the 20-gauge was lost coming or going from Pachmayr's engraver in West Germany.
So, Mr. McCormack, when are you going to publish all the Hedderly material you've been sitting on for at least two decades now?
3" chambered 16 ga.
