Dave, thanks for your effort and the info. Interesting, I've read that modern 20 gauge Browning sporting guns are bored to .635". Frank

I thumbed thru my notes on the bore diameters of the various 20-gauge doubles I've owned. For Fox doubles my 1913 A-Grade is right on the money at .615" in both barrels while all the others range from .617" to a couple of tubes that are .622".

My most over-bored is a 1930-vintage Ithaca Grade 4E with 30-inch vent rib barrels. It is .623" right and .629" left. It has .038" choke right and .042" choke left!!! There are no choke markings on that gun. I've seen a similar grade 4E and a 5E long barrel 20-gauges from right around 1930 with no choke markings either.

The little 0-frame Parker Bros. VH-Grade my Wife gave me for my 55th birthday has bores of .619" left and .620" right, with chokes of .028" left and .022" right, and it is chambered for 2 1/2 inch shells.

Picking up an old thread to continue a recent discussion on the Super Fox 20. The bores just menioned (the Wes Dillon gun) aren't very big, but they are bigger than standard. Dave, did you give the bottle of Wild Turkey back to Bill Headrick?
