Silvers forgot to mention Tom, who manufactured high grade Foxes in Lancaster for as long as any of the others.

Beautiful gun, striking stock.
Silvers wrote:Let's take note that A H Fox design guns have been manufactured in New Britain for almost 25 years now, as compared with Utica at some 17 years and about 23 years in Philadelphia. :)

Hats off to Ansley, Clarence, Savage and Tony.

It would be interesting to see a breakdown of the total number of guns built at each individual location.

I believe CSMC Fox guns started with serial number 205550. This gun is 206058. Just over 500 guns made by CSMC so far.

Great gun!!
It should be considered a DE SPECIAL. It is same pattern as the Catalog Gun on about page 11.

I had the pleasure of interacting with Mr. Tuscano during the months he had my gun.
He was asked by Tony G. to create a special pattern to be featured in their Fox catalogue.
When I asked Lou for that pattern on my XE he corrected me, "You mean your DE".
Oh well, if it were meant to be hung onto, they would have made money with handles.

They then put me in touch with Mr. Tuscano.
He told me mine was the 18th New Britain Fox to be engraved as such.
I like the coin finish and especially like the deep relief.
Just a tiny game scene for posterity.

Tony has done a great service to make the hi-grade Fox guns. I have been trying to get a Fox restocked, I need modern dimensions and or maybe some custom metalwork.....all the good guys are booked solid till the end of 2018 and longer!!!! Its not uncommon to get a Fox made to order in a year or less from CSMC....mine took just over 8 months and its wonderful! I think they are much better than a up-graded custom gun. Tony's guns are not cheap but I don't think anyone has asked for their money back!!! And they hold their value better than a up-graded original Fox does. Just my take....SXS Ohio

That is a prize. I could put one exactly like that to good use on dove and quail.

Well done, both you and Connecticut Shotgun.

SxS, not only what you said, but if someone has a gun upgraded, does it come with a lifetime warranty?? When you buy a CSMC Fox you do get that and more from Tony and his crew!!

Way back when, it was all about quantity. Less is the new more.
I so admire the New Britain DE 28 that I gave another chunk of my modest cabinet for a pending CE/XE 16 .
Two barrel set. Exhibition wood. Twin forends. English stock with skeletal butt.
Target weight of 6 pounds.

What a wonderful shotgun. I've always thought that if I were to order a CSMC Ansley H. Fox I would want it engraved in the "Banner" style of the early C- and D-Grades.
