Well, I never did get the pics posted properly on "FaceBook", but for the others of you here who don't participate in that form of "social media" either, here's a few photos of blinds I hunt, and have hunted in the past, in Arkansas.

The Peabody Blind on the Cache ...... so named because of the felt covered rope "appropriated" from the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, which now hangs in a corner of the blind (second photo)





As you can see, there is a lot of duck hunting history that surrounds this part of Arkansas, and I have been indeed blessed to have been able to partake of it for so many years.

Wow Stan, those blinds are incredible. They make my blinds and pits here on the Chesapeake Bay look like rat holes.

Amazing blind and I have hunted in one almost as big but no full kitchen in Arkansas. So many ways to hunt waterfowl but it's all about staying well hidden.

I get "spoilt" everytime I go hunt with my buddies in Arkansas, Daryl. I've never even built a blind here, myself, but instead prefer to scout carefully and "run and gun". It's pretty rough hunting the way I do it here, wading in and out of beaver ponds or squatting and hiding in tall grass, but I have always loved standing by a big tree shooting in green timber above all other kinds of duck chasing. We take a couple War Eagles or Express camo'ed boats to and from the blinds. A couple have large covered boat slips to pull the boat under to hide it. When properly "brushed up" they blinds look like nothing more than a big oak tree top with the dead leaves clinging to it. I don't have any good pics of the outside of the Hughes blind, but will try to get some when I get back out there this December.

What spoils me out there are the fine breakfasts we fix in the blinds. I even had grilled stuffed duck breasts and fresh baked biscuits once. That trip has become the highlight of my oldest grandson's hunting season, too. I am a blessed man.

You are blessed Stan as I know a hot breakfast would do it for me to totally spoil me. Nice to have friends in high places.

You're right, Daryl. One night I was sitting in the den listening to the owner of the Hughes blind talk NFL "war stories" with another guest who played under Bud Grant at the same time, for the Vikings, from '66 thru '72. The other guy there was Fred Cox, who was the place kicker. Fred said to my friend "That's a heckuva nice blind we shot from this morning". My friend replied that it cost him more to have built than his first house cost, which was $38K.

High places, indeed. Or, as it might be said down heah' ...... shooting ducks in high cotton.

"Queen" told me early this morning that there was a message on her Facebook page from Jay's wife saying that he wanted my address to send a bottle of Clenzoil. I don't know if it is a second place prize or if he is sending something to everybody that entered, but I appreciate the gesture.
