Wow, our members have scored some wonderful guns. I've never seen a Prewar Model 42 with wood like that. Bill's Model 61 grooved top shotgun is another favorite of mine. My 2016 acquisition of some note is a Whitworth Steel Purdey pigeon gun, with hammers. It is a very late gun, one of the last ones made, 1912. It has original 2 3/4" chambers, proved for 1 1/4 ounces of shot, side clips and third bite. I've been looking for this one for a long time.

Not a Browning, looks like a Remington Model 11 F grade to me, engraved by the master Joseph Loy.ROMAC wrote:That Browning is one I'd be proud to carry.

Fox,
You're correct Remingtons, actually 2.
A dear friend of mine always remarked that in his collecting experience the high grade guns seemed to "Swim in Schools", meaning when one would surface it seemed like others would appear in short order.
Hadn't nearly gotten an original buttplate on the first well used gun, when the second came along.
Only picture I have loaded of the 1906.
The 1907.

Actually they are No. 6 "Premier" Grade Remington Autoloading Guns --Not a Browning, looks like a Remington Model 11 F grade to me, engraved by the master Joseph Loy.
or Remington Autoloading Shotguns --
Remington Arms Co. marketed this John M. Browning designed firearm as their Remington Autoloading Gun (or Shotgun) from 1905 to 1910. In 1911, Marcellus Hartley Dodge combined his arms and ammunition companies as Remington Arms - Union Metallic Cartridge Co. and in the 1911-12 Rem-UMC catalogue they began calling this gun the Model No. 11 --

Please see the images that I have of the L.C. Smith Monogram 2 Barrel gun. 28 inch VR and 32 in VR (the 32 is stamped as a long range and has the appropriate 3 inch chambers). Both of the forends have been broken and repaired over time but the rest of the gun is in pretty remarkable shape for a 90 plus year old gun. As I mentioned earlier it letters as a factory 2 barrel set according to the Houchins serial number listing.
