I served with Dave in Afghanistan 2002-2003. At that time I didn't realize he was a Fox nut also. I saw Dave at Walter Reed in 2014. spent an afternoon with him, talking Foxes and guns and the Army and life in general.
Sorry he is gone.
I know he will be having coffee with Ansley on a regular basis.
Rest in peace brother.

"Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee" Sgt. First Class (E-7) was the type of NCO that comes along every now and then, and will be well remembered-Taps!!!

I believe our friend David was a First Sergeant, E-8. Please correct me if I am wrong. He changed his screen identity from SFC to 1stSGT on March 8, 2014.

There must be lots of people here willing to help.

I suggest making a list, taking some pics and asking for help with values on this site.

Auction houses:
JamesdJulia for rarer guns
If you do go the auction route please post where and when so we can participate.
Gun stores:
Jaqua's Cabelas gunroom/ Library and I think BassPro
Online :
Gunbroker , Guns International

please note there are fair prices , and ridiculously over-priced guns and occasional steals in almost any resource ... especially online.

My apologies if I overlooked anything obvious.
Hopefully the next person will chime in and improve on my limited knowledge.

David was one of those rare individuals who are impossible not to like. Even with all of his health issues he never lost his spirit and his smile. I will miss him.

Best Regards, George

My apologies if I overlooked anything obvious. Not trying to be nit-picking, especially when we have lost a brave senior Army NCO-- but I think Bass Pro has deleted their high end gun rooms. And if I may, based on past experiences with Cabelas, I'd also pass on their Gun Library routes. Might I suggest my friend and gun dealer Kirby Hoyt, out in the West Coast area. He is honest, and as he also honors all Vets by not charging them for shipping and handling on any firearm he has sold, that, at least to me, is telling.
Hopefully the next person will chime in and improve on my limited knowledge.

I just read this one the Parker forum !

I last talked with him about ten days before Thanksgiving I think . I had been meaning to call him since Thanksgiving but was afraid I'd find out what I just read .

David came into the shop about 2 1/2 years ago or about the time he first came home for surgery . And I gotta say from day one he and I hit it off . Wish I had known him longer .

God bless and rest in peace !
