Will straightening the trigger guard work for english stock or do I need to make or find another.

Many folks straighten them. Some weld on an extension to make it a long tang and install a second screw. Sometimes you have to bent the tangs up a bit so the restocked gun's stock doesn't look like a canoe paddle.

Most of the Fox-Sterlingworth Skeet & Upland Game Guns used the regular trigger guard straightened on their straight grip stocks --

Well I finally got this out of the gun shelf to restock today. Hopefully have done in time for bird season.
