My son, Billy, and I had a great time at the Southern. Met some great folks & renewed some old friendships. Billy shot my Superfox on skeet & did quite well. We're both looking forward to Deep River in the Spring.
Best Regards, George

It was great to see old friends, meet new ones and put some real faces with online friends. Hope to see all of you all again soon. Dealer participation was down, but there were still some tempting guns.

Shooting over 800 rounds meant we hardly ever left the course. It felt like Mike and I were driving in circles over and over again around that place. We loaded up the cart with 4-5 guns a piece and all the shells we could carry in the morning, and didn't come back to the clubhouse until late in the afternoon. I don't know that we even stopped for lunch on Friday. It was one heck of a good time!
I thought that I had gotten away without breaking anything this weekend, but in cleaning the 11 guns I took to shoot, I noticed a problem with my 16ga Sterlingworth. The gun does not seem to want to open easily, with the bolt getting caught in the extension lug on the back of the barrels, which is keeping them from opening freely. With some effort and several attempts, I'm able to get it to open, but it will have to be addressed. I can push the lever all the way to the right an the gun won't open. When the gun is closed, the top lever is also now sitting way to the left, when before it was positioned far to the right hand side.

It was a great weekend. Getting to meet Mike S., Mike K., Billy Lander, Mills M. and his boys .......... renewing old friendships with so many others. Oh, and the shooting. Rick always has a great shoot, whether it be S x S shoots, or one as advanced as last year's U.S. Open, he always runs the deal right. I have shot better other years, but did have a great time anyway.
I sure want to slip off to the Spring, in N.C. if there's anyway to make it, but thus far it has eluded me.
Back to the old grind, but still looking for those long legged Foxes.

Mike, you've probably bent the pin on the yoke or broken one of its sides where it spans the lever spindle.
Some good reports from many on the fall Southern. Thank you all. Sure sounds and looks like a good time. Mountain MIke does look dapper in his shorts

(pics on another thread on the Members Forum). Now it's back to 35 degree mornings at his club here in PA.

Hope to see more dealer participation next year. I missed Carol Lueder of Fair Chase books and Kirby Hoyt in particular. As usual, most guns were priced pretty high (that is why there aren't more sales) but I noticed at least one competitively priced Sterlingworth 16 that disappeared by Saturday.

Mills, that 16 SW now resides in my vault!!

This was the last hurrah for my Fox A grade in it's current form. The previous owner buggered it up with a poly finish. I stripped it off in early summer. Today I dismantled the gun and began the stock restoration process in earnest. Plenty of time between now and the Spring Southern!! Plenty of Foxes to shoot anyway, plus I do like that Pah-kah DH. It does choot 'em!!

Besides, Dean Romig did say I could choose any Pah-kah sub gauge gun from his safe if I shoot for them at the Northeast Classic in June.

I am glad it found a good home. I have a 16 gauge Sterly already, otherwise would have been real tempted. The early A Grade was also tempting but I have one of those too!

That would be fine, of course as a potential Fox BOD we would convict you of High Treason, the penalty of which is to be coated in hot tar and grouse feathers, the latter of the two supplied by Silvers.
PS--BTW, don't be making any shooting plans at Hausmann's, for
"Mike & Mike in the Morning" playtime is over!!

But Mike and Mike HAVE to shoot!! Gotta earn props for Team Fox!! I can shoot and still have time for the Bo-Whoop duties. I already have much evil planned for that event.
