Finally sent for a letter from Mr. Callahan for this gun, first time I ever got anything different on a Sterlingworth, he stated shipped from Savage to Abercrombie & Fitch, NY on July 1935. Might explain the different checkering pattern, ejectors,leather wrapped pad, and bone case hardening.

If the serial number of the gun in question is 370,159, it is available for more research on the Griffin and Howe website. I can't quite make out the number in the picture.

Yes the gun is listed on the G & H website under the old A & F records. Going to send for a G & H research letter and see what happens.
