Frank, real nice article. Very well written. I'm finding that I really enjoy reading about the history of these guns, and can appreciate the effort you have made in investigating and uncovering. Interesting how you get some questions answered which lead you to other questions that need to be answered. BTW, I just got my issue of DGJ, too.

My postman's mule got better, wasn't dead after all, and I finally got my DGJ. Let me add my kudos to the others on a job well done, Frank. The amount of time it took you to put together a piece like that must have been staggering, with all the background information you told. Here's hoping it's not your last effort.
OBTW, What make of pad it that on the Wrangell HE ?

Thanks again all for your feedback. I have some conceptual ideas for three more Foxy articles and have a good start on one of them. I'll get serious once hunting winds down and winter gets old. JFI, I sent some DGJ's to the grandson of the gent mentioned in the article. Heard back from him yesterday with kudos on it and how nicely his grandfather was presented; also that he was pleasantly surprised with quality of the DGJ.... he had thought it was one of the monthly hunting mags you find in the convenience store.
Stan, the pad is a Jostam "No Kick Coming". It was one of the least expensive of the Jostams. Still pretty soft! Frank
