That one is worth more than a 1000 words. But where??? Are those clay targets being held by several of the guys in the second row...and another in the sand between the 3rd and 4th shooters, from the left?? They appear fairly warmly dressed and I'm with Craig on the possibility of a Long Island /Jersey shoreline venue. What is the outbuilding for...perhaps clay target storage?? Has anyone ever seen pics of Interstate Park in Brooklyn...site of the 1901 Grand?? I have several accounts in that viciinity and often wonder where those hallowed grounds were located.

The absence of any game, leads me to believe this was some sort of target shooting club/gathering?? They look bedraggled. Come to think of it, that could be a picture of Suponski and the Parker boys after their ass-kicking at Addieville in 2009????

No idea but I'm still digging. To me there is a bicycle in the background and since I removed the matte you can see it better. That would be a clue, All appear to be what I call modern guns in that there are no under levers and the guns appear to be in very good condition, I'm saying 1900-06 maybe. I'm sure a historian could tell by the clothing and shoes maybe. I thought it may have been in a sawmill yard but I didn't think about sand. If it's NJ it cold be my Grandfather ( wishful thinking) but don't think he owned a gun.

The leg-o-mutton case beside my man is awesome, looks new and looks like a medallion or somekind of latch I'm not familiar with. Maybe the prize? Its Ansley.....

TOOL MAN,

The casino at Interstate Park on Long Island was a far grander venue then what we see in this picture. I have pictures of interstate Park during one of the Grands, and a diagram of the layout, in some my old bound volumes of American Field back home.
