I did not say you were going to be able to buy a high condition gun for $500 but a mechanically sound hunter quality extractor 12 bore. I've bought a few 12 SWs for more than $500 and I just bought a 16SW for over $1000 but I am not looking for a hunter and am willing to pay for condition. Likewise I do not save every SW listing that sells ... at the time I was looking for a parts gun so only saved the ones that sold very cheap. But in the last year plenty of better conditioned 12 SWs sold for under $750. Just last fall I was at an auction where an early A grade with SST sold for $750...i regret not buying it but I'd already bought two other guns high condition gun and was not interested in a gun with no case color even if it has an SST.

There are plenty of reasonable deals out there... heck there is an early A grade with a buy it now of $500 right now...
Cheers!
