Bill having never seen a 190 something gun as it came out of the factory it is difficult to saw but the color on the gun mentioned doesn't no look like anything or part of anything in my safe.

I would think we would all be better served if a discussion about the general subject of case color be in a new thread so that those who have abandoned this threat be aware of the discussion and possibly offer some insight.

Someone else is going to have to start the new thread, unfortunately. I asked for an opinion on the terminology that would describe original early A case color and I'm waiting for it. My post was for the purpose of answering the original poster's question about the value of the gun and the question "Any ideas?" I gave her a value estimate and a couple of ideas. My comments about case colors were related directly to the gun she was apparently asking about.
