The Harry Wright gun collection is the only gun auction catalog I've ever seen in hard cover. One interesting aspect of his collection is that he seemed to be very friendly with Robert Runge and Larry Del Grego Senior. He apparently spent quite a bit of money with them.

If I remember he had a few nice Parkers and Winchester 21's along with the M12's and 11-48's. I haven't seen Greg at the club lately.

This is one trap shooter who is not into "bubba" mods on any gun never mind a beautiful 4E Knick!
I recently purchased this 4E Knick...1957 100% UNTOUCHED ORIGINAL right down to the Ithaca factory original raybar sight and starburst recoil pad. 32" full choke bbl. Just waiting on it to arrive via the exporter.

That is a nice 4E Knick, original Sunburst pad with aluminum spacer. The RayBar sight on a Knick is a little too gawdy for me, on a model 37, Yes.

I have a few late Knick's with the RayBar sight and I just can't warm up to it, but I also cannot bring myself to remove them One of the 2 last NID's assembled in 1964 for Sheldon Smith is a 410, this also wears a RayBar sight.

Speaking of RayBar sights, I purchased a RayBar counter display with 3 new RayBar sights new in the display boxes. It was a pretty cool setup and I left myself be talked out of it. A good friend from the Ithaca area really wanted to present it to his father who's father (friends grandfather) was the (Bar) in RayBar. Ray Paetow & Deforest Barkee designed the RayBar sight for Ithaca Gun, hence the name.

I also wonder about the owner's neck length. That thing looks to have 4 1/2" drop.

When was the Raybar sight introduced? My Sousa Knick was made in 1930 and has a Raybar sight. Everything appears original otherwise. My late 4E Knick also has a Raybar sight.

The RAYBAR sight isn't in the 1954 Ithaca Gun Co. catalog. The next Ithaca Gun Co. catalog I have is undated (Green Cover) but had a 1957 price list with it and has a full page on the RAYBAR --

On the other hand a friend who just bought a righteous 16g 30” Steringworth on last Sunday shot 49/50 at 16 yard Trap with it on Thursday. Second round of 25 was straight. First time he fired the Sterly and that was from the low gun position.

Ha. I agree Frank but try to convince a dedicated trap shooter of that.

But to get the Nth bird a trap shooter "needs" a Ljutic with a Stan Baker "Big Bore" barrel!!

Daryl, one item from Harry Wright in my collection is a Model 31 Remington F Grade 28 gauge barrel that he probably got from Larry Del Grego Sr. with the idea of making a 28 gauge Model 31. I turned it over to a talented machinist, (not gunsmith) to make a working gun out of it. He almost succeeded, but gave up mid project and gave it back to me.
