i have wore carhartt exclusively for many years,my wife bought me some wrangler brush pants,looked good and fit perfect.i put them on to get out on the harley a couple of weeks ago and put my right leg down at stop light and smelled something burning,looked down and saw my leg was on fire.i dont know what the material was but if you are ever lost in the woods and need emergency fire starter you are in luck if you are wearing a pair of those

Tom, great pics of Annie and the habitat you are in. That looks like some knarly stuff. I am amazed at the cover versatility that woodcock utilize on their migration routes and winter grounds. So very different than what we think of as classic woodcock cover here in MI.
I will say that I am a fan of the deerskin gloves with the long cuff. Tough yet supple enough to feel the trigger. As far as chaps I have a pair of Bob Allen chaps that I bought over 30 years ago when I lived in MS that have held up well. At one time they were waterproof but not so much anymore but they are tough as nails and held up well. I think my next pair will be Filson tin cloth chaps.
