Frank , it does not surprise me that piece is missing . Could you send me a picture of that piece ? I could fabricate it and and replace it . I will try it as is right now to see how it holds up . Thank you

First pic is the front view of the "Trapezoid". This on an XHE Fox stock but the Sterly and all Foxes have the same setup. Red outline shows the Trapezoid that's missing on your stock. Black color blocks out some of the serial number, not pertinent here.

This pic shows the back view. Red line highlights the angled surface against which the matching angle boss on the trigger plate bears to draw the stock head against the back of the frame. I've replaced these pyramids before by deep inletting a piece of hard walnut, acraglasing and with a small reinforcement screw placed vertically through the new pyramid. Then cut-matching with the angle on the trigger plate. That's on a higher condition Fox. A quick & dirty job on a shooter Fox could be done by rough cutting the angle and bedding with acraglas. frank

Thank you Frank ! The picture I posted did not have that in there but I ended up finding that piece and reattached what was left of the one I have . I will send pics if I take the gun apart again .

Shot 50 rounds of high brass target loads through the Sterlingworth and everything held up well ! I shot the # 8’s high brass because that’s all I had but the gun pointed well and was pretty smooth operating after the minor trigger repairs I did . I basically stoned off some burrs and polished parts that were meant to move freely and then reblued them . I am ready to start chasing some pheasant and chukker at our club this weekend .
