I have noticed Senator Hawes' name on the sign in book of his duck club on the lower Potomac, within a rifle shot of Henry Bartholomew's property where Nash gunned with Henry when he was "in town". When I get the opportunity, I will do some research on that sign in book and see if there is any mention of his guns, or Henry's or Nash's presence at that club. I have told this story before on this site, but I will remind you that I don't hold out much chance that they visited that club when Henry's property was apparently so prolific. I will report back if I can add to the research.
loggy I was reading where you said in Becker letter he didn't boor many super foxes did he just boor hi grade guns. or did he boor some of the first supers DGKaas says it is very unlikley he even touched a standerd super fox I agree with him but I hope both of us is wrong thanks for replies.
Burt's name is mentioned on some Fox order cards. If anyone ever sits down to examine all the cards, we may see some comments about Burt actually working on a particular gun. I would like to own that gun.
I don't know about any specific guns other than my own. I have a Utica Superfox that has the same bore dimensions as the early Philly guns. I asked in my request for a letter if Burts name appeared on the card. I received a reply that it was a frequently asked question but that it was not on my gun. There was no information provided as to any other guns. I can only say that it shoots better than I do.
