Do you plan to completely redo all the metal, to include re-casehardening the action?

Please ask Chris to continue taking pics from time to time. I love this kind of project.

A new rotary bolt was added and the wood is shaping up. With all the gunk out it is functioning pretty good, needs some further adjustments (weld the barrel hook). The blank is a bit nicer than we were targeting due to what the factory may have put on. The right side really showed itself well.

One thing about gunstock blanks. Some get worse during shaping and some get better. This one got a lot better. That is going to be a stunning piece when completed.

Bob Smith, Boston. Those yankees understand big guns. I have had 32" 20 gauge Parkers from Bob Smith.

Brian, did you check the records for this gun to verify it originally had a "half hand" stock?

Very nice work Brian and thanks for posting. Love to see these old Foxes come back to life. Just a question since "roll joint" is kind of Parker terminology. Are you saying a new hinge pin was installed or that the barrel hook was renewed with weld or dovetailed insert and then recut, or both? frank

The bolt got it close and the barrel hook is probably going to need a little something. Forearm pics.

Ran across this and wondered if there has been any update on the progress of this?

What a great find and story. The gun is definitely in the right hands, but you already knew that.
