Vent rib fox guns

Post by thepalm0314 »

Is there a tally or estimate of how may Fox guns came with Vent ribs?

Most of the ones I have seen are later long barreled guns.

Any 26 or 28 inch guns surfaced?

Thanks

James

My search of the 12-gauge production cards showed 47 total -- fifteen 32". thirteen 30" two with a second set of 26", thirteen 28" & six 26". I make no guarantee of absolute accuracy but I'm certainly in the order of magnitude.

Also, a vent rib gun from a run of ten missing cards 35193 surfaced recently --

James, there has been at least one of the 28” 12 gauge Savage era Skeeters that has surfaced as well as some small bore 20 gauge/16 gauge VR guns in either 26” or 28” as well. Very few of the small bores. Brett

I have a 28” Skeeter, actually it has 4 different cards and it was ordered for “Office Sample”
I have seen 3 other short barreled Vent rib guns.
They are scarce.

I have only seen one 12 ga. Trap AE? VR and one 20 ga. VR SKEET, both carded exactly to specs. Had to sit down and smoke a fine imported cigar on each occasion. Kevin

There are a number of examples of multiple carded guns - I guess some people couldn't make up their minds what they really wanted until it came time to write the check. My favorite below:

. The gun ultimately wound up in the SKEET configuration. Kevin
