Stumped, Savage Sterly with half round grip?

I recently bought a Savage Sterly 16 gauge for parts. No receiver was included. This was a police confiscation and the company contracted to do the destruction is allowed to sell all the left over parts minus the receiver. I decided to take a stab at it just for those parts. What I got was a set of ejector barrels with everything in 26 inch. They appear to be number 3 weights at 3lbs exactly. Chokes are .008 and .032. Chambers are 2 3/4".

Included was the complete forearm with all metal work. Got a baggie containing the other parts.

Quite happy with everything overall, but am stumped on what appears to be a factory buttstock with a half pistol grip, with the serial number in the stock head where its supposed to be. It just looks right to me and thus I need some input.

A later Utica Fox; Depression era parts cleanup or someone at the factory wanted something special? A great buy! Fox smallbore forend ejector parts are exceedingly hard to source. Question to Tom: did the mainspring ejector followers, trip plates and collars come with the frame parts or were they scrapped along with the frame? If you got those parts you hit the jackpot. Over the years I've have gents willing to pay almost anything for smallbore specific ejector parts and especially for the mainspring followers. And just a year ago I had a gunsmith/machinist friend ask me for dimensions of the follower so he could make one, which then took several attempts before he got one to work. frank

May have some of the nomenclature incorrect. Attached is the one pic they provided showing everything. I knew no trigger guard was there and also one hammer was gone. What I really wanted was the complete ejector forearm and the ejector barrels. The buttstock was a pure bonus as I didn't think it was correct, because frankly I'd never seen one that wasn't a made up affair. I thought after getting everything on Saturday and opening the package, that the buttstock was the real deal and indeed factory work but wanted some other input from folks more knowledgeable then me.

I see only one mainspring follower along with one mainspring. The trip plates and their collars aren't in the pics. Whatever. Tom that was a good deal and twice now myself having bought parts from police confiscated/legally destroyed Foxes I know the purchase price was no doubt "attractive". frank

That is a nice parts/gun pickup. One of these days you know you’ll need some of those parts for a project. It’s a shame that the frames are destroyed on these guns. If memory serves me correctly MI municipalities no longer can even auction the parts. Everything is destroyed. It’s a bummer! Brett
