Louisville Anyone?
Anybody heading to Louisville this weekend for the National Gun Day Show? I’ll be there. Stop by and say hello, should be somewhere around Row E Table 7 if it’s same as last year. If not I’ll post an update. Always some good Foxes at the show!!

I used to love going to Louisville. Fly in on a ridiculously cheap Southwest flight, rent a car, drive across the street to the show, turn the car in with about a half mile on the trip odometer. Pork chop sandwich from the lobby vendor for lunch.

I used to really enjoy the show, and would stop either going to or coming from grouse hunting in S.E. Ohio (and special trips for the June show). Purchased guns regularly, but quit going as the show diminished in the quality of good doubles dealers.
I have no doubt we passed each other in the aisles. Yet another change not for the better.

Re: Louisville Anyone?
Got back from Louisville late last night. All in all a great show. Many small bore A/AE guns including two 2 barrel set AE 16’s w/30” barrels that both lettered correctly. a screamer CE 12 gauge, a beautiful K Grade SBT gun, and a number of other Foxes. Best part was catching up w/fellow Foxers TJW, YlwDog, Randy Roberts and others. There were a number of other fine doubles such as LC Smiths, Ithacas, Parkers and European guns along with many nice Winchester and Marlin Lever Action guns. While like other shows the dynamics continue to change this is still a very good show with a large attendance on Saturday.

Eightbore,
I refrained from one of the Pork Chop sandwiches this go round but was mightily tempted. However, Miss Cherri has me on the fat boy program so I opted for an apple and protien bar for lunch. It didn’t come close to the KY Pork Producers pork chop sandwich, trust me!!

I have never been to Louisville or Tulsa. What is the best show for doubles? The guns you see are they stuff that's been listed on the internet or fresh inventory??

Re: Louisville Anyone?
Craig,
You will see some guns that have been on the internet but there are usually many more that have not been on there. Louisville, Tulsa and other shows I have attended seem to have a mix of some of the nationally known dealers, regional dealers and then individual collectors so there will be an assortment.
In my opinion Tulsa is the best gun show for doubles and overall. With 11 acres of display tables under one roof there is every type of gun imaginable from antique, vintage, curious and relic through modern day guns. It’s almost impossible to see everything in one day.

Re: Louisville Anyone?
Even though Louisville is not that far from me I have not attended regularly as I felt the show was declining in terms of what I am interested in. I will admit that I was pleasantly surprised with the number of exhibitors. Great to see it doing well, I hope the trend continues. Seems to me this was more of a Fox show than other American doubles, lots of Fox guns.
Craig, Tulsa has no equal IMO in terms of shows. Just by pure size if by nothing else, it has quality also. Like Jeff said, 11 acres under one roof, huge! It is quite the spectacle. While other shows have declined Tulsa just keeps plugging along somehow.
Brett, good to catch up with you as always. See you in Tulsa.

Brett, good catching up with you in L'ville. Good show. Nice to see tables full & a strong crowd on Saturday. Definitely better than the last show there.
