Handicapped Sub-Gauge at Rock Mountain Results
Greetings all, just posting a photo of today's winner of the Handicapped Sub-Gauge event. Frank "Silvers" Srebro was HOA with a 100. Frank shot a 90 and had a 10 bird handicap for using a 20g SxS Crescent Arms gun! Classic never goes out of style!! Well struck Frank.
Fox members Daryl Corona, Stan Hoover, Mike Smith and Rich Anderson plus many other double-gun aficionados also participated today and a good time was had by all!

Re: Handicapped Sub-Gauge at Rock Mountain Results
Mike asked me if he could do some funning re: using a Crescent SxS and I told him OK.
Stan and Daniel were also there today at the Rock’s Handicapped shoot along with the Foxers mentioned, and the group of us talked briefly in the parking lot after the shooting. Someone asked and I told the group I was fielding a Browning 725/32” in 28-gauge. 90 ex 100 + 10 for a 28-gauge = 100 for score. That was with 3/4 ounce/8-shot factory Fiocchis and (two) Modified chokes in the 725.
But now that Stan has replied I don’t want any of that parking lot group being confused on what I’d told them. Or other readers thinking I was shooting one of Mike’s favorite Custom Crescent Arms double-guns. frank

Yeah,
I had noticed Mike tried to pull a fast one there.
Does Big Mike actually own and shoot a Crescent Arms or what is his fascination with that manufacturer ?
Again, Nice Shooting!

Stan, I had 3 of them at one time. 20, 28 and .410 hammer guns. Now I only have the 20g. Had a lot of fun with them. Nothing fancy, just good shooters.

Mike neglected to mention that he is the moderator of the CAFCA website and final inspector for the hammer gun division. Their motto is "You may find a better sporting arm but it won't be here". Frank started out shooting a Crescent but the top lever broke off on the first station and had to revert to his backup Browning to win the HOA. It's in the repair shop at Crescent. The good news is it was still under warranty. Nice shooting Frank.Stan Hoover wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 9:50 pm Yeah,

Owning a Fox is not a spectator sport.

Re: Handicapped Sub-Gauge at Rock Mountain Results
Thanks everyone. Some good humor here. Actually yesterday was the first day I felt normal after a bout with sinus and eye bacterial infections that started last Sunday. I have pollen allergies as well as mild asthma from my work in Industry and the infection got out of hand and moved to scary last Wednesday morning when my eyesight was all fuzzy and eyes were watering almost continuously. I shot with Daryl, Steggy and Sparky on that morning and was way off. Then a trip to my Dr and heavy meds starting on Wednesday afternoon, and while I did recover a bit day to day since then I apologize again for being "off" to the friends I hung with while at the Northeast SxS.
Of course a Browning 725/28g/32" isn't a long barreled Fox smallbore but competing against about 50 other shooters mostly with o/u's and semi gas guns puts a different perspective on the gun you use. The 725 doesn't have barrel porting and I dislike extended chokes and replaced mine with flush. Just a bit on the traditional side. My friend Daryl asked me afterwards to get first dibs on this "Plebian" Browning if I ever get a Perazzi MX20 32" in 28g. He might better start looking for a 725/28g now. Mine isn't going to be relaced. Sorry Daryl. frank
