Re: What is your favorite Sterlingworth??
I have 3:
A 1911 Pin gun 12ga. 28"; a 1916 era 26" brush gun in 16ga.; and a nice 12ga 30" (that is about to go to market).
The Brush gun is my favorite.

Nice to hear from you Laribus. It seems like we met at the Southern. Will you be attending in April, 2024? I seem to remember a couple of nice graded Foxes of yours.

Re: What is your favorite Sterlingworth??
I have a 12 ga./30" SW, all original, that I've not fired in 15+ years, that I should sell. I've another 12 ga. SWE with 30" barrels that had been restocked when I bought it, and already had it's chokes opened. But my favorite is my 28" SWE 20 ga. that I use for quail and woodcock. Both of the last two guns fit me like a glove, and I shoot them well.

Re: What is your favorite Sterlingworth??
After a long search I finally found a honest 1918 12/28” SWE. On a whim I requested a JTC letter which showed it went to White Hdw, (Wilkes Barre?) Any SWE always gets a smile from me because, to me it’s like finding a 68 beetle with working factory a/c . Overall it’s been a great addition to my modest collection and has served well on PA ringnecks

Re: What is your favorite Sterlingworth??
Like many of you I’ve owned and still own many Sterlingworths. My favorite Sterlingworth that I use is a Wildfowl Deluxe w/32” F/XF chokes and 3” chambers and letters as such. A fun gun to take in the woods for Spring Gobblers!!! My other favorite Sterlingworth is a “new in the box” Savage era 20 gauge non ejector gun that still has the paper and cardboard packing material with it. Obviously it will never get used but fun to imagine why that gun never was put into service.

Re: What is your favorite Sterlingworth??
Easy one for me. My go to 20 with 30" tubes. If I was limited to taking one gun on any bird hunting trip it would be her. A close second would be my 16 Deluxe with 28" barrels and right behind her would be my 20 with 32" barrels. Interesting note on all three guns is the barrels from the 16 Deluxe and the 32" both fit the receiver of the 30" 20 like they were made for it.

Fred, I’ll search for pics. I believe I posted pics of three high condition Sterlingworths I have and it was included but it was several years ago. If I can’t I’ll Post new pics.

Re: What is your favorite Sterlingworth??
About three decades ago a friend bought what was ostensibly a new in the box Fox-Sterlingworth. Problem was the serial number of the gun in the box didn't match the box. There was a Sears mailing label on the box, and the gun in the box lettered as going to Sears. Can just see a clerk at Sears putting the gun in the wrong box. Friend gave me the box and hang-tag after he sold the gun.

If you shipped a gun today in that flimsy box via UPS,USPS or FedEx it would arrive destroyed

Re: What is your favorite Sterlingworth??
Especially if it has gun on the label. So sad that at one time that was the norm for shipping.
