Disassemble Fox Shotgun

Post by ddwilletts »

A friend has a Fox 20 Ga that he wants me to clean but I can't even find a SN and can not figure out how to get the barrels disconnected from the receiver. It does not come apart like my other double barrels. Here are some pictures of it. Can someone please help me get this thing apart? Thanks

Put the wood back on the forend iron and the whole assembly should snap off. Then the barrels will come off.

That is a Savage era Fox Model B. It is a completely different design from the A.H. Fox guns. Definitely put the wood back on the forend metal and then pull forward on the top portion of the forend wood and the forend will come off. Once you have the forend off, push the top lever to the right and the barrels will then come off the frame.
