A few woodcock still around.
Hunted some local covers today with Tut and Sydney. We ran 3 dogs and found 13 birds in a little over 2 hours.
I’m really liking this little 20 ga AE.

I’m really liking that little AE. I’ve used a 20 ga Sterlingworth for the last 18 years or so, but I think I’ll send it down the road and just hunt this one.

Don't be too hasty to send the Sterlingworth down the road.
A man needs a good back up gun and an occasional loner for someone who shows up to hunt with a camo plastic semi!
One hunt with it and you will have made a new convert to all things Fox.

Fred, yep Sophie was along. She had a nice find right near the end. Two birds went up off that point and Tom and I each collected one. She’s a really good dog.

Re: A few woodcock still around.
Can't kill them on the couch for sure. Sophie hunted 3 days this week as the end of the first split is today. Little girl is flat out tired this morning. Now the slow time of the year starts as I have 3 states within 90 minutes of me and none of them have Woodcock in season right now. Hopefully the winter won't be too harsh and they will be a few around in about 3 weeks. The late season can be boom or bust. Numbers still aren't great, but like I said it sure beats that couch sitting.
