The boys & girls at Fall Creek certainly picked a nice piece of wood for that one!!
It was during 1915 when Ithaca Gun Co. transitioned from their fine early style engraving --
to the bold McGraw designs of the OP's gun --

I've seen the case colors on these would that mean this was refinished at some point?
I don't see evidence of it but you guys are far more knowledgeable.

That's a nice one, Weatherby.
As to the action having been blued, I can find no reference to Flues models with anything other than casehardening finish. Indeed, the pictures on pages 62 and 63, of the grade 4, in Walter's book shows a casehardened action, not blued.

I don't but would be interested in hearing what someone more knowledgeable had to say about it.
I've heard the light colored streaking is from high mineral deposits in the soil.
This is another really nice piece of wood that is on a Savage fox.
It has the streaking and I think it would be called feather crotch from where and how it was cut.
Thinking that has a lot to do with it.
