Nice gun. The wood has been refinished and the checkering pointed up. Original Philadelphia Sterlingworths had flat-topped checkering.

You are not alone. I refinished the wood and pointed up the checkering on my first, and only, 20-gauge Sterlingworth.

Yes, the wood on the gun has been refinished. The blue and case color appear to be original. It is hard to replicate those Fox case colors correctly.
