Non matching stamped Barrel weights

Non matching stamped Barrel weights

All pictures and info I have found has both barrels having same weight numbers. (1-4) . Not sure if that is the case. I attached pictures of my 1921 Sterlingworth 12ga. 30” 1st barrel is a #3 the 2nd is a #2. Just curious on why 2 different weights. Thank you

Monday morning hangover barrel blank puller most likely. PS. I got no clue besides just a mistake.

If it was a mistake then the question is are they 2 or 3 weight bbls??

The barrels may have started out with different wall thicknesses, but after striking, I'll bet they are the same now.

To Tom’s point a Monday hangover or a Friday afternoon after a little beverage in the lunch box!! I have never seen that on another gun, very interesting!

What do the markings or letters mean behind the weight numbers. Looks like SB & Co

I believe that was one of the companies that made the barrel blanks. I think its been commented on before.

They may have been running low on one of the barrel weights.Bobby
