Re: Budget build Sterlingworth 16
Wrapped up the last build for the year yesterday after an evening Bow hunt. The finish on the 20 turned out a bit nicer than the 16, but they both look pretty decent. I had a hassle fitting an auto-safety pushrod in the 20, but finally got it right after having to disassemble the thing about 20 times to get it just right. Well anyway, here is a pic of the 16 and the 20. Grouse opens this weekend in Pa
Thanks for looking,

Those look really nice. It's going to be a shame when you get grouse blood on that nice finish.

Re: Budget build Sterlingworth 16
Hey guys thanks for the thumbs up I appreciate it. It was a great year for wrapping up 4 big projects. I still haven’t shot the two sterly’s I just wrapped up but can’t wait to see how they shoot. I’m thinking the budget gun may get the nod this saturday on some PAGC stocked pheasants...hopefully some pics to follow.

Matt,
Thanks for taking us through the Sterly projects. Looks like both guns turned out great! Should be fun to grouse hunt with. Finish off the thread with some pics of the guns with PA pheasants or grouse! Brett

Just a watchout; anyone doing gun work for compensation that involves keeping another person's gun frame (or receiver) overnight or longer needs a 01 Dealer/Gunsmithing FFL and must log it in & out in his Record Book. Liability insurance would also be a good idea imo.edgood wrote:nice job...i have very early 20 ga sterlingworth needing restocking...also have semi inletted wood set...do you have interest in working on gun for fun and profit? ed good

Ed,
What Frank said pretty much sums it up. I don’t have an FFL and therefore am unable to perform the work.

Besides, it would be more for the Fun part, since my guess would be that Ed would not be willing pay what it would take to be considered for profit, or even break even at that.

my guess is that dudley has nothing better to do than come on this fine forum and make outrageous guesses about others business activities...
and as for atf regs, they would apply if stocker of gun became regularly engaged in firearms business in order to make a living at it...casual gunstocking work for casual profit is not considered a business...and, all interstate firearms shipments must be to an ffl...
