Bruno, that’s a great picture of your dog and your gun. I’m from Grand Rapids, but I occasionally hunt near Traverse City. Was that picture taken East or west of 131? Don’t worry, I’m not going to move into your secret area.

Great photo. What a classic scene.

The river looks pretty wide in the picture, so I'm guessing you are west of 131.

Thanks guys. I thought the picture was to good not to share. You guys are correct. It was west of 131. The spot used to be really good for grouse and woodcock but the the cut matured and it wasn’t great hunting but the scenery makes up for the average hunting!

Good lookin’ pooch. (Toolman, I know that you struggle with Michigan vernacular. Pooch is slang for dog.)

Bruno, great pics!! You mentioned maturing cover....I’ve lived and hunted in MI long enough to have had coverts mature out and the need to continually search out new cover. I still hint some of my favorite mature cover out of habit or to rekindle memories of previous hunts with my now gone dogs! Part of the fun is also finding new cover to make new memories with new dogs!
