Hi Folks,
I inhereted a FOX/Savage double-barrel 20G shotgun. I'm not interested in selling it but I'm curious if the gun has any monetary value? I could never sell it for its sentimental value. I attached a pic of the barrel but if there is a serial number on the gun, I can't find it.
Also, there is a piece missing off the gun and I wondered if anyone knows where I might get a replacement.
Sincere thanks for any help/advice anyone can offer.
Randy

Try Numrich Gun Parts.
You need a pistol grip cap for a Savage/Fox model B 20 gauge.

Re: Need help valuating and finding a part, please
Your gun was made during the years Savage Arms Corp. did all their arms making at their old J. Stevens factories at Chicopee Falls, Mass., 1947 to 61. They didn't serial number the Model B during thse years. There should be a small oval on the bottom of the receiver, just aft of the forearm iron --
The letter in this little oval is the year of manufacture, starting with A = 1949, B = 1950, C = 1951, D = 1952, etc.
Savage was using a generic grip cap during those years --
Reproductions are available from various sources.

Some good Reply's above.
Value, probably around $300 +/- if everything works as it should.
You might find a grip cap on ebay. They show up once in a while.
