RESULTS: FOX UPLAND GUN CHAMPIONSHIP
This announces the results of our inaugural Fox Upland Gun Championship held in conjunction with the Vintage Gunners 5-stand event on September 19-20 at Hidden Hollow in Pennsylvania. The menu consisted of (10) true pairs (simo pairs) and the max possible score was 20. Rules and purses for the event may be found elsewhere on this Forum. We had 15 shooters and some fine A H Fox guns were fielded.
Mike Koneski and Kevin McCormack tied with an outstanding score of 17 ex 20 and both had long runs of (9) birds. Thus a coin toss decided on 1st place to Mike and 2nd to Kevin. Congrats to both on excellent shooting at very challenging birds.
Mike Smith, Stan Hoover and Steve Cambria tied with scores of 16 ex 20 for 3rd thru 5th place. Long runs decided on MIke 3rd, Stan 4th and Steve 5th. Again, congratulations are extended to all three shooters for their fine shooting.

That chestnut roasting goes both ways. Heard in whispers at the Fox booth, how my friend Mtn Mike took the bait and borrowed a 16b Sterly Ejector gun that has that elusive issue of occasional misfires.Mike of the Mountain wrote:17/20 with 3 gun malfunctions, not to shabby for a certain chestnut roaster using a borrowed gun!!
Too bad he'd sold his good 20b Sterly to our mutual friend "Ross".

Thanks guys! It was great doing it with "the finest grouse gun ever designed and built", my 16-bore 26" SKUGG. Got to love the .005/.011 chokes in these guns! Now that I own 2 of them in identical configuration, maybe I'll train a loader and go for the 'Paired Gun Flurry' next year!! Kevin
