OT Extreme cold weather
Best wishes and prayers for all the Fox fraternity that are locked in the jaws of such bitter cold up north. Be careful, take necessary precautions when you have to hit the roads, and dream of warmer days with a fine Fox on your arm. Hey now! ............ not that kind of fox.

Re: OT Extreme cold weather
Thanks Stan for thinking of us. Negative 4 here in PA right now and wind chill of negative 18. Headed out with our Kaiser for his morning “constitutional ” walk at the local park. He’ll have two coats on and my fox (wife) will be in her Toy just in case one of us need help. Not taking any chances in this weather especially with new snow in top of sheet ice in the low spots. I’ll have Yak tracks on of course. Later ......

Re: OT Extreme cold weather
Living the good life with the polar vortex here in PA.
It was negative 6-F when we got to the park but fortunately only had some mild wind gusts, nothing steady. We walked a ridge along this crick, less snow because of the hemlocks and little ice underneath which helps our 70 pound K Man who has trouble getting up if he slips on hidden ice. In that case I have to lift his rear end and so I try to avoid where ice is likely. Those who live in the northeast know it's really cold when the mountain laurel leaves shrink up, as in the second pic if you click/expand it. Last pic was taken by my wife who was in her 4 Runner. Yesterday there were two Canadas floating down with the ice in the crick. Wouldn't need a Super-Fox to take 'em.

Re: OT Extreme cold weather
Overnight temperatures here in sunny Alberta reached -40°C this weekend. The magic number where -40°C equals -40°F. Close to -50 expected tonight. We've actually had a mild winter before this latest blast. It was a great weekend for going through the safe and taking some measurements. Not a great weekend for the grouse & pheasants however.

Dang. Bless y'all's heart. I can't even imagine it.
OTOH, think what it would have been without "global warming".
