Forend change

Contemplating a change of forends, or at least an extra forend option.

This is a 1916 BE 12 GA with BT forend, to backup with a graded 12 GA splinter forend.
I have not taken delivery of the SFE as yet.

Since forends are individually fitted to the respective shotguns, barrels and frame size enter into the picture.
I am wondering from personal experience, how much hand fitting is required? Your opinions?

{Interesting that the splinter FE cost in 2018 is TWICE the original cost of the shotgun, purchased used in 1979.}
