I love it! I do baby it a little bit though, this will be my 4th season with it.. I save it for the late season and use it as a stalking rifle. I hunt a 400 acre very thickly wooded property with plenty of horse trails that are perfect for a 3 or 4 hour walk. I've taken a doe just as it got up out of its bed this way and it was very satisfying to have it all come together.

Mine is plenty accurate with Winchester Dual Bond 260 grain slugs. As far as is it worth it? As far as a utility gun, it is probably not worth it at all to most people. But, as an object d'art that enriches the hunting experience it is worth every penny.

It has 3X wood and is a real looker!

Rutledge is a great story teller. My Father in Law was a student of his at Mercersburg Academy back in 20s-30s. His parents were going through a divorce and Archibald took him under his wing and taught him a lot about nature. Birding, hunting arrowheads, etc. We have a lot of ARs books, some signed. Even have a sketch from AR "Poling to the Blind".

Glad you got a copy, Woody. Hope you enjoy it. Sure wish I could remember who borrowed mine. Maybe one day it will find it's way back home.

In the meantime I just received a nice, hardbound copy of Fireworks in the Pea Field Corner by Rutledge. I'll console myself with it and several other new books I got from a member friend here.
