Love those! I buy all the loose paper shells that I find (that I can afford!)...not to shoot, just to have. I used to buy all the shell boxes I found too, except now most sellers think everything they've got is collectible!
A fried of mine gifted me these; eight matching brass cartridges saved in a small cardboard box...
whoever saved them used a very appropriate box too !
The Western RECORDs are 1931 or 32. My take on those Winchester LEADERs are experimental loads leading up to the 4 1/4 dram equiv. 1 5/8 ounce 12-gauge 3-inch Magnum loads introduced with the Winchester Model 12 Heavy Duck in 1935. Those Peters High-Velocity shells with the "New Peters Crimp" are 1947 to 1960. From 1947 to 55 the shells would have had the little paper load sticker over the crimp and the later ones, like those shown, had the shot size stamped on the sides of the hull.
