Original Recoil Pads used for AE grade 20ga

Post by Many Irons »

Can anyone tell me which recoil pads were used on late A Grade 20 Ga.guns.
I just found one and it has a standard butt plate, but is just a bit short for me. I think a correct recoil pad could make a big difference in the way I shoot it.

Thanks

Jostam Anti-flinch was one for sure and was the stock pad on the Sterlingworth Deluxe models. Guessing other period correct options would be the Hawkins pad with hearts and the Noshoc pad. Others smarter then me will no doubt weigh in on this topic.

A six-slot Jostam Anti-Flinch, about the only vintage recoil pad not yet reproduced. We do once in a while see a card requesting a Hawkins, D.W., or even on very late guns a Fray Mershon "whiteline".

From most info, I guess any of the pads which were in production when the gun was made will be right. Thanks for you replys
