My first Sterlingworth

Post by M.L. »

I bought my first Sterlingworth about two weeks past in Amarillo, Tx. The serial number is 103547 which puts it in the 1925 or 1926 era. The question I have is the barrel markings. The barrels are marked Savage Arms Corp. ,Chicopee Falls, Mass. 12 GA 2 3/4 chamber. The barrels are 30 inches , I have not measured the chokes. Fired the Shotgun at the Amarillo Gun and broke 22 out of 25 the first time I shot it. The shot gun is just an extractor gun but thats ok. I wonder if it has had the barrels replaced in later years.
It has a nice dark stock that looks to be French walnut. I am very pleased to finally get a sterlingworth to go with my A grade.
