Missing XE Fox from Puglisi Duluth Shoot

Post by Bruce Day »

I was asked to post a message here about a missing/lost/ strayed or stolen high condition Fox XE 12ga SN 21777 . If you have any information about it, please call
Mike Koranda 218 525 5528 or
Jason 218 626 3618

We had a fine time at the shoot and hope for more shooters next year. The Fox shooters edged out the Parker shooters by 10 birds, largely on the efforts of one extraordinary shooter. I was the person who worked with Mike Koranda to develop make v. make competition, and all I did was to take the top four shooters of each make that had at least four shooters( to make a squad). I had a squad each of Fox, Parker, Merkel and L C Smith, and totaled the scores of each. I considered developing mean scores, throwing out extraordinary high or low scores, but for this first year I just totalled them. Next year Jack Puglisi is talking about some nice prize for the top make shooters, no idea what. I did not differentiate year of the make...if the shooter said Fox I accepted it whether original, Savage, Galazan whatever, and same for the other makes. Suggestions are welcome with the concept to make this as participatory as possible and not biased toward a handful of top shooters.

Had a great time and met some fine people.

Relatives by inlaws were the Kautzky's of Fort Dodge IA. Joe K Sr invented the single trigger used in the A H Fox guns and invented the Lazy Ike fishing lure. Don't own a Fox, but have a bunch of Parkers, and good to create enthusiasm about classic American doubles

The Parker bunch will have the film shot by TV sports reporter Sara Franks with interviews of me, Charlie Herzog and local physician Don Kumble. Maybe we willl be able to post that somehow.

Bruce I think you are missing one digit on the serial number.

Thanks, 21777. I would have spotted it immediately had it been a Parker sn.

I sure applaud Jack for starting this shoot, it sounds like a lot of fun.

I guess if you do what you are considering with the score you could just hire a couple of Russian and old East German figure skating judges to score the "contest"
