Model B Stock Stamped Checkering

Post by jssolom »

I have inherited my father's Fox Model Bc and the buttstock needs to be replaced due to significan cracks around the action end. While I could be concerned about messing up the value of the piece, I am more concerned that I will be unable to reproduce the stamped checkering on the grip. The one I have is just like the one in the following linkhttp://www.chuckhawks.com/fox_B_shotgun.jpg

Does anyone have any suggestions about re-stamping the stock to match the original?

Thanks for the feedback bbman3! I was considering hand checkering, but how do I reproduce the pressed shape versus the cut style of typical hand checkering? Are their other tools for this?
