That's their choice and I'll be the first to say I enjoy talking/spending time with everyone while at S x S events. But come on now, why fret over paying a premium per clay to shoot at a tournament type event with free parking, free admission, clean rest room facilities, paid staffers, score keepers, decent food vendor on site, tents to keep them dry if it rains, insurance coverage while on the grounds, and even being able to scrounge short/desirable hulls left by others or putting out your personal guns and accouterments for sale openly or by stealth at these "high priced" events ..... basically just show up for a cheap or even a free ride? I'll say, give the club and the shoot organizers a break.

I cannot disagree.
I’m sure major expense is involved in putting the event together and I sincerely thank Ernie and Morris for stepping up and getting it done and hope at the very end, the books show a healthy plus sign for all what they do.
For me, I am not much of a competitor so shooting for score is not important and I don’t hunt anymore so no impact there. I do like being in the presence of like minded people who enjoy the guns and all what goes with it. And yes, for many being a good wing shot is significant and I applaud them for that.
And I do scrounge the hull buckets for those 2 ½” 12 gauge RST hulls that shooters
throw away. I get some 2 ½” 20’s also. I use some and give many of them away to people who can’t find a good source for same.
I guess I’m one of the ones who minimally support the event with just a round of clays or Mad Jack or 5 Stand.
I don’t go to shoot is what I’m saying I guess. And I look forward to next June.
