saftey malfunction

Post by ed gagne »

i just got my sterlingworth back from the smith and it came out great, the stock fits very well (it had been lose) and i had the chambers opened to 2 3/4". i went to shoot it today and had a problem with the safety. after the first shot the safety was kicking back on. it did this 80% of the time. does anyone know what could be causing this?

The first thing I would do is get it back to the gunsmith and have it made right. Most likely the safety rod is a shade long or the angle of the hole was changed due to refitting the stock. In either case, it should not be a major problem for the gunsmith, though it is surely a major pain to the shooter.
